Wander around the waterfront near Praca de Dom Francisco Gomes to enjoy the pleasant gardens & cafes. Visit the town's old section (Cidade Velha) to explore the remnants of the city's medieval wall and one of its city gates (Arco da Vila) with a white marble statue of St. Thomas Aquinas perched at the top.
